T__aeu, Last Night.
An inquest was held at Mount Peel on Saturday into the death of a young man, W. J. Shaw, who was found dead in a stream beside an overturned buggy. He had evidently driven the vehicle to the Rangitata Railway Station, and on returning in the dark missed the ford of Hind's stream and got among the boulder.". He was thrown out of tbe trap and fell on his head, being stunned, and drowned in two feet of water. Deceased was found by another station employee, following an hour later. A verdict of accidental death was returned. Masterton, Yesterday. George Yates, a cook, single, 60 years of age, with no relatives iv the colony, was found dead in a swamp at Greytown on Sunday. The jury at the j inquest returned a verdict that deceased died on Friday evening from exposure.
