GOLF CLUB.

Annual Meeting.

The annual meeting of the Manawata Golf Club was held yesterday. Colonel Gorton, President, was in the chair, and there were present Messrs Freeth, Louisson, Haruian, Cohen. Guy, Mellsop, E. N. Barraud, A. Barrau3, C. Monro, P. Kirn, H. G. Moore, A. J. and W. Sjrang, Dr. Stowe, Dr. Martin, G. W. Harden, F. Cooke, H. Cooper, Holmes, L. A. Abraham, and Mesdames Holmes, Porritt, Monro, Freeth, and Miss Warburton.

A satisfactory balance-sheet was presented.

After discussion the Committee's recommendation that the annual subscription be increased: Men, £3 ; ladies, £1 10s; country members 30a and 15s respectively, was carried. On the motion of Mr L. A. Abraham it was decided not to charge entrance fee to any member for re-entrance into the Club within three years of resigns* tion.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr Harden; VicePresident, Mr J. H. P. Strang; Captain, Mr Allan Strang; Hon. Secretary, Mr L. A. Abraham ; Hon. Treasurer, Mr E. N. Earraud; Hon. Auditor, Mr E. Hitchings; Committee, Messrs P. C.Freeth, V. Harman, H. G. Moore, P. Sim, and Dr Stowe.

It was reported that the weather had prevented the preparation of the greens, and the appointment of opening day was left to the Committee.

The following new members were elected: Mr and Mrs E. Milton, Mrs ™" raD§ 5.™ R,V Laery' Mrs o>Brien, Mr Alex Nathan, Mr and Mrs G. Potts Several further nominations were received.
