DAIRY SCHOOL.
It is well known that Mr Kinsella, Dairy Commissioner, is in favor of establishing a dairy school in Palmerston North, and a dairy school will be placed here if certain other things are done. In the first place, the local A. and P. Association, Chamber of Commerce, Borough Council, and Farmers' Union must get up a sustained agitation; and, secondly, they must be prepared to assist in providing a central site for dairy school purposes. If there is any opulent settler burning to become famous as a public benefactor, who has from twenty to forty acres in a central position to give away for the good of posterity, let him speak or for ever hold his peace. The alternative is for the institutions mentioned to get their heads together and think out a scheme for providing an alternative site. Governments help those who help themselves.
