INSPECTION OF MEAT.
I (To the Editor,)
Sir,—A mother joins in earnest supplication to those in authority, and beseeches them to make an end of the awful conditions under which some animals are slaughtered to provide meat .lot. the community. It is almost in•credible to believe, that pigs are kept .near these yards, and fed with the parts •of the slaughtered animals which are deemed unfit for human consumption. 'Then these pigs are in turn slain and <sold to the public as prime pork. It is %rue the law demands that the meat ■hall first be cooked, but who is present *o control- and protect the public ?—I ,va, etc.,
E. B. J.
