PRISE.

RUSSIAN SURMISES.

HAMPERED BY RAINS.

Received May 23, 12.18 a.m. London, Yesterday. The Russian headquarters' staff at Mukden report that tho Japanese main body estimated, at eighty thousand, remains south of the Russian force, covering Liaoyang. The advance has been apparently suspsnded. The inaction causes surprise since the Russian forces are daily increasing. It is surmised the rains have hampered the Japanese artillery.
