A parade was held at the Feilding Mounted Rifles' camp early in the morning, when the members were instructed in troop work. During the day mounted parades were held. The corps is comfortably quartered, having the use of tbo Jockey Club's stand for a diningroom. This evening lectures were held, after which Mr Daw's band enlivened tho proceedings.
The Health Officer reports to the Borough Council to the effect that residents were in the habit of making rubbish tips on the roadsides and the banks of the Makino, and it was decided that persons caught offending in this respect be made an example of.
Reporting on the waterworks scheme the Engineer said that Mr G. Cornfoot, of Cheltenham, on whose property it is proposed to construct the reservoir, has offered the land to the Council at the substantial price of £60 an acre. Within a period of about two months the tunnelling operations at the intake will be commenced; also excavations at the reservoir in town. As it will bo some considerable time before the steel pipes are available, the work of opening up the pipe line will be held over for some time,
