Dr Bruen, the oldest medico in West port, died yesterday.
Sergeant Drummond, ono of the Bisley team, was presented by the townspeople and volunteers of Dannevirke on Monday night with a purse of sovereigns.
Mr D. J. Nathan was yesterday reelected president of the Wellington Chamber of Coumerce for the third year in succession.
Mr S. J. Watson goes to Wellington to-day to attend the conference of i< nendly Societies, as the delegate of the local lodges. Discussion at the conference will hinge mainly on the proposed amendment to the Friendly Societies' Act.
