Around the bquave the men in groups Are bamied, With downcast hend and voices hushed, They say That Palmerston, our town, will soon Be stranded, For Bob ie going away. Just now when we for men of strength Are reeking The Borough Council both to guide And sway, To take full charge and keep our cash From leeking, Why Bob ! He goes away. To leave us now without that great Proboscis ! Can Jickell still those pipes so Straightly lay ? We'll know not till ho goes how great Our loss is ! Yet. Bob, he goes away ! Who have we loft. ? What's Sol, or Even Hurley ? Good men and true, but only Common clay ! Yee, we might try Haydon, even Though he's surly, When Bob he goes away. As for the town, we'll try and keep Things going ; And for snfe return and welfare Ever pray. Though much he knows, there's much He'll sco worth knowing, When Bob he goes away. ] hen farewell Bob, you see how great Your fame is ; "To do" you well, how weak, how weak My lay.
