BUNNYTHORPE.

Harvest IFestivaS

Ghuroh Annual Meeting.

(Own Correspondent.) Bunkythokpk, Last Night. On Wednesday evening the annual harvest thanksgiving service was held at the Anglican Church. A most eloquent sermon was preached by the Rev. C. C. Harper, who also, in the unavoidable absence of the organist, presided at the organ. The church, which was most beautifully decorated, was crowded. The decorations and arrangements of flowers, fruit, corn, etc., were carried out by tho ladies of the congregation under the able supervision of Mrs C. Gascoigne. At the conclusion of the service the annual meeting of parishioners was held, the Vicar, Rev. C. (J. Harper, presiding. The balance-sheet and report were duly adopted and were considered satisfactory. Votes of thanks to the retiring church officials were passed, also to the caretaker Mrs C. Gascoigne. Tho following gentlemen were elected to fill the various offices for ensuing year:— Messrs H. Richardson and H. Derby, churchwardens; Messrs Ranson, Espiner, D. Maclean, J. Easther, "W. Gascoigne, Hawker, and A. Bailey, vestrymen. Mr McGowan, Government Dairy Expert, gave a lecture on dairying in our Public Hall on Monday evening, but evidently for want of proper notice being given, a very poor audience attended. It is to be regretted, as everyone hero is more or less interested in the dairying industry.

The gifts for the harvest festival are to be sent to St. Mary's Home, Wellington.
