(By Our Special Beporter.) .. Th« above Council met at Sandon yesterday. Present—Otß J. G. Wilson (chairman), H:'Hammond. Thos. Clark, G. Kendall, Thos, Masters, T. Robinson, j and H. Claris. COBBESPONDENCE. The Road Inspector stated that Mr Marshall had agreed to the payment of •£7 10s, being amount of damage done (to road. The Department of Public Health "wrote that during last month no cases of infectious disease had occurred in the district. Mr E. McKenzie requested the Council to fence embankments between Hirst's and MeXenzie's on the Kakariki Line.— No funds available. Tht Honeahoe Drainage Board informed the Council that the contract was let for Tompkins' drain on Saturday last, The total cost would be £10.— The Council resolved to contribute half the cost.

The Council's overseer stated that in company with Mr Claris, he had inspected Mount Eobinson road, which vra.e on the boundary between the Manawatu County and the Foxton Borough, and under the control of the latter. The road was mostly used by milk carts with narrow tyres, which were most destructive.

Mr J. A'Court waited on the Council asd asked for metal for 11 chains of road fronting his premises. He was willing to do the carting.—The Council agreed to the request, half the cost to be borne by each riding.

Cr Clark stated that at Bongotea, between Hickford's and Darragh's, the street was low and required repairing.— The matter, however, was held over.

Mr Derham desired the Council to effect repairs to the fence between his »nd the Council's property at Carnarvon, also to remove gorse.—The Clerk was instructed to deal with the matter. ENGINEERS REPORT, The Engineer reported the footpath opposite Hickford's and Holtham's had been constructed in Bongotea Biding, -also a pipe culvert on Gust's Line. The sroads generally throughout the County were in fair order. treasurers' report. .The treasurer reported as tollows : — General account, dr £1330 0s 3d ; loan account cr £871 7s Id ; net debit balance J6459 13b 2d.
