Veterans' Home Demonstration.

As a cricket match it had many points, but the spectator who feels a cold wind going clean through him soon tires of even ladies playing cricket, and welcomed an interlude of Maoris who gave poi dances and hakai. lhen came a burlesque cricket match in which Laun Bantock and others provided plenty of amusement A Maori Council of Araiteru presented an address to the Governor, expressing regret at bis departure and wishing him farewell. Mr T. Parata. M.H.R.. addressed the Governor, and asked him to take the ™ °l th? Maori pe°Ple *° Kine Edward, and concluding by wishing th» Governor long life and prosperity. Hia Excellency suitably replied.
