Beasley J. Robertson was for a long time editor of the Battleaxe— i American, of course. He always strove for accuracy, and when he did make a misstatement he was not above acknowledging it, as witness the following, which ho one week printed: "We deem a word of explanation due to or.r readers with regard to an item which appeared in tho last Battleaxe, in which we stated that Henry R. Brown, of Long Praire Township, had been brought before Justice of the Peace James Hargrave and bound over for stealing chickens and resisting an officer.
