WHAT THE THIRTY MILLION LOAN IS FOR, CONFIDENCE IN BOTHA.
[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright ] Received January 23, 0.54 a.m. Capetown. Thursday. Mr Chamberlain announced that the £30,000,000 loan was intended for the relief of British debt. The immediate relief to the revenue would be slight if any. Louis Botha, C. Vanhulstyn, Sir G. Farrar and Sir Percy Fitzpatrick will probably be nominated to the Transvaal Legislative Council which meets in May, The sittings wil be open to the public.
