Technical Training of Teachsrsi Movement to unseat Fowlds Abandoned.
(Per Press Association.) Auckland, Wednesday. At the Boatd of Education meeting this morning the report of the Finance Committee stated that the portion' of the grant for tbe training of teachers in subjects of manual and technical instruction should be expended in providing a course of lessons in Auckland for instruction of teachers and pupil teachers in Kindergarten methods ; and that the Board should give authority for the temporary engagement of competent instructors. The report was adopted. The application for withdrawal of the petition to annul the recent Parliamentary election at Grey was lodged with the Registrar this morning, and will shortly come before the Supreme Court to bo dealt with. The original application was based on alleged irregularities in rolls, and other matters connected with the election. Subject to the consent of the Cjurt, the movement to unseatJMr Powlds will be abandoned.
