POISONED WITH ALCOHOL.
A Callous Husband.
(Per Press Association.) Chbistchurch, Tuesday. Some shocking disclosures were made at the inquest at West Oxford to-day on the body of Elizabeth Curran, the wife of John Curran. licensee of the Commercial Hotel at West Oxford. The woman was found dead in the hotel kitchen on Saturday night, and the evidence showed that; she h d been drinking heavily Curran tried to get her out of the kit chen to the bedroom, but found her 'too heavy and left her there. Later on the servant worst in and found the body lying on the floor, life being extinct Nothing was placed under the woman* TA?I *was just allowed to lion the kitohen floor. j A medical man stated the woman died trom alcoholic poisoning, but that the tact of her being left lying on the floor without care or attention was alone liable to cause death. The Coroner commented on the callous behavior of the husband. The jury returned a verdict that the husband showed great negligence in leaving his wife lying on the floor in the state of health she was in, and in not using sufficient preoaui'OQS to prevent her obtaining drink, * ,
