Second Day.
The annual tournament of the North Island Bowling Association was continued on tho PaltncL-ston Club's greens yoste-rday in fine bowling woather. Notwithstanding tho heavy raia of the previous evocing the greens were in capital order, and everything was favou - ableto goo-1 play. Again the* tournament was attend.d by a largo number of friends of the game, and several ot the coniests were witnessed by enthusiastic auflisnees, notably iho several rounds in which the Palmerston team participated. It was something for Palmerston bowlers to ba proud of thai the keenest struggles which havo taksn place w^re those bstween tho local men and thrir opponents and that Palmerston has won its first five games. Tho conduct of the tournament is excellent, the President of tho Association, Mr D. J. Nathan, and tho secretary, Mr Mentiplay. controlling che games in a highly satisfactory manner. Sj far tho tournament has proved most enjoyable to the representative bowlers of the North Island, and the Palmorston Club lias won golden opinions for the manner in which it is attending to its guests.
