The Manawatu Railway.
Negotiations for the purehose of this railway by the Government have come very near a satisfactory basis. It is understood the company value the shares at about 82s 6d, and that an offer somewhere in the vicinity of this sum is to be made by ihe chairman of the company ou Wednesday next.—Wellington correspondent Auckland Herald.
