Captain Eose reports that the iron ship Ada TredaleTwhich left Ardrossari with coals for San Frariciscoon June 15, 1876, r was abandoned -m- flames,^the' crewsufEering great hardships for twenty-six days. The; ship was towed into Papeete Harbour, Tahiti, on Jane 2O;?1877, still burning, after eight mbhths >-■ tossing about, during which she had drifted 600 miles.
