A PROCLAMATION. • WHEREAS by Section seventeen of " The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," The Governor is empowered by , Proclamation to declare any district m New Zealand to be a b6rough under the said Act from and after a .day to be named m such Proclamation : — Now, therefore, I, George Augustus Constantine, Marquis of Normanby, Governor pi , the Colony of New Zealand, m pursuance and "exercise of the power and authority vested m me by th,e said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district of Palmerston North shall be and the same is Tiereby constituted, as from the twelfth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-seven, a borough under the said Act ; and that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Palraerston North, and the boundaries of such 'borough shall be those specified m the Schedule hereto. * SCHEDULE. Bounded towards the North-east by a straight line being the north-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 389 and 420 and a straight line joining the said nortK-eastern boundaries 12550 / links; towards- the jEast-and South-east by the Manawatu River 36400 links, and by Section No. 371; 177 links ; towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 371, 372,~ 373, and 374, 6250 links, and by Section No. 370, 3000 links, and by Section No. 350, and across a public road, 8200 links ; arid towards th'e North-west by a public road, being the north-western boundary of Section Nb. 558, 177 links, and by a public road 2730CLlinks.
