' t ' Sib, — In- your issue of the 27th ult. a •'(Correspondent, styling himself " Customer," favours yourself and the public of Palmerston and Foxton with a list showing the comparative prices of some ' --thirteen articles at/ the' two places above / named. Unfortunately, however, the list supplied by '^Customer " is totally • incorrect, not a""single article being quoted atthe present Palm'erstonjorice. I am astonished that anyone whose storekeepers' accounts amount to from £20 to £30 per month, should be so ig- , norant as to the prices he ought to pay for goods supplied him, and the only solution of the mystery which 1 presents itself to my^mind^s ,^hat " Customer" is not only a very simple minded individual, bht his face must be so true an, index to his character that the rascally storekeeper, when he sees him enter his door, at once determines (to use a, vulgar expression) to stick it on." If such be the case the position of your correspondent may well remind one of a lamb m the midst of wolves. I trust flic storekeepers who have so wronged him yin the past will suffer such keen prickings of conscience as will lead thorn to ' treat him better m the future. — I am/ ¥; Z. '

TO THE EDITOE. ' ri Siß,-^ln your -issue of the 27th ultimo I noticed a list of prices quoted by "A Customer," showing .the difference of .charges fcr stores, Palmerston v. Foxton. I wish to state for the benefit of the public that the prices quoted are wrong, so far as several stores are concerned ; but it is evident that " A Customer " is ignorant of the Central Store, which he sliould not be, it being close to the Central Chambers.
