Macarthur (Vice-Chairman), Maysmor, Linfcon. and Gumming. MINUTES. The -minutes of the previous ordinary;, meeting, and also of the last (special^ meeting were read and confirmed. ACCOUNTS PASSED^ ' ' The payment to Messsrs. Bowler, and Pudney's account of £86 13s 2d for the completion of the Camden and Den- V bigh streets contract was authorised. The Engineer's account for the roadman of No. 1 Ward, £6 18s, passed for payment. .- Mr Gr. Lyne's account' for metalling one chain at the railway crossing, Kim--bolton Road, £3 10, ' passed for. payment. , ■ ' •- Progress payment pn.the.No.lE.angitawa Hoad contract to the amount of £40, was authorised to be made to Messrs. Bowler and Pudney. t - . Messrs. Wells and Taylor's account of £70 .45, for the completion of the Taonui lioad contract, passed for payments Mr Luke Ward's account of £16 16s for the completion of the Denbigh and Prinee-streefcsformation eonti'act, passed ■for payment. . . , .-.,. The Collector's account of £20 12s 3d for commission on rates collecfced passed;, for payment. . ' : An order was presented from Messrs N. Cameron and Co., requesting the 1 " Board to pay T. Nelson, Storekeeper^ Palmerston, the sum of money which may be due to him for goods supplied;.and to deduct the same from the amount of their contract when finished. , . Resolved — That the Clerk be instructed to write to Messrs Cameron and Co., informing them that they, will receive the progress payments agreed upon for work passed by the. Engineer. • Resolved— That the Engineer be instructed to employ a roadman m No. 1 ,4 Ward,- when he may think it necessary. Rasolved— That the Engineer be; instructed to get small vrorks m Denbigh, Prince, and Queen Streets completed as cheaply as possible. '; ■ , Resolved— That i;lie Engineer be instructed to lay off the Rankawa Road,No . 6 Ward, and call for tenders for the same. : • . ;V Resolved — That the Chair&an be requested to write to tl^e M^wjtfatxi Highways Board, 'soliciting iiiMr cooperation m getting 50 chains of Henderson's line cleared^ where it is ,\a dividing line between the Manchester, and Manawatu Highways Districts.
