NEW SHAW FILM

CRITICISM IN LONDON

(Rec. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 14 The £1 300,000 film of Bernard Shaw’s “Caesar and Cleopatra” had been received, as one commentator remarked. with “roars of silence” by the critics. What the public will think of it is vet to be seen, since the premiere is not till today but the critics have left no room for doubt about their opinions, and while some praise it more damn it.

Gabriel Pascal, who produced the film, is unimpressed by the criticism- “ They came ready to bury Caesar, bun they cannot bury Bernard Shaw. They are not worthy' to polish his .boots, ’ Pascal said with scorn.

An earlier report said that the film was expected to be one of the British industry’'s outstanding successes and would run in London till next September before being generally released in Britain. .
