Most of the restrictions on the r use of gas and electricity will re--11 main at least until dhe New Year, t although the coalminers are ex-’ J- pected to decide tomorrow to rc--5 turn to work on Monday., - After conferring .with the supply the Minister for Local Government (Mr Cahill) said the only "alleviation of the power restrictions .possible ■ was a morning broadcasting “’session from 7 o’clock to 8 o’clock in addition to the evening session and of non-daily papers outside the Sydney and Newcastle areas. The Minister said that if the miners resumed work on Monday only 150,000 tons of coal would be mined they began their annual Christinas holidays on Thursday. New South Wales would receive only 30,000 of the -150,000 tons before the New Year. An .increased allocation would be sought by the State Government. I The Federal Government has been "asked to propose to the miners that .they postpone their 15-day holiday. Six State Industrial Commission Judges will hear the Ironworkers’ 1 Union application for re-registration with the Commission next "Wednesday. In deciding to hear the application jiext Wednesday the Commission has by-passed the legal procedure governing union applications for re-registra-tion. This provides that notification of an application tor re-registration must be published and 14 days must be allowed for any other union to object to the application.
