MOVEMENT OF WOOL

SHIPMENTS TO ENGLAND. (Press Assn) WELLINGTON, Dec. 14. There has been considerable movement in wool during November, 110.209 bales having been shipped, states a report issued after the monthly meeting of the New Zealand Wool Board. The major portion, 85,747 bales, went to the United Kingdom and prospects point to larger quantities during this month. Gratification was expressed at the passing of the Act setting up the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission, which will come into force by proclamation at an early date. The board had agreed on its lepresentatives and the names would be made public when the full personnel was announced by the Minister. . The board decided to secure further information with a view to preparing a Wool Labelling Act which, it was felt, would be of great value to the industry as a whole. . Considerable disoussion centred around the activities of the International Wool Secretariat, and, with a return to peacetime production and trade, the secretariat had submitted plans for extension of its work in scientific research and publicity. The data already collated was now proving of immense advantage, and, when all the proposals were ironed out, it was hoped to pass the* information on to the industry. A general discussion was held on the research conference and as all interested bodies had indicated that they would be represented, the meeting would be held on February 28. It was considered that valuable plans would be laid for the future conduct of 1 various branches of research work.
