CENTRAL SCHOOL
Mr J. Wesney was in the chair at a meeting of tlie Central School Committee, when, it was decided that the ground and building committee meet , tlie headmaster (Mr D. C. Piyor) and caretaker on the evening of committee meetings so that matters requiring attention could be pointed out. A sum not exceeding £l2 is to be expended on timber for stalls, etc., in connection with, the school gala day in November. The headmaster reported that the roll stood at 627. with a further 12 pupils in the special class, 'lhe school had been visited by Messrs W. H. Brown and W. "B. Tennent, members of the iWanganui Education Board, and thy | architect (Mr E. 11. Hodge). It was understood that a number of requests had been approved, although as yet nothing "had been done. The inspectors, Messrs Dickie and Johnston, had also visited the school.
