FARM WORKERS' RATIONS

In reply to representations made by the Manawatu executive of the Farmers' Union regarding allowances of tea and sugar for haymaking and shearing, the Rationing Controller has advised that the rates of allowances for al'l classes of casual labour were recently revised and increases made in the allowances for casual work other than shearing. The allowance for shearers was more than three times the rations for ordinary consumers, and with reasonable care this' should be sufficient to provide for their requirements He would discuss the matter with the Dominio/i secretary of the union. _^^
