EXAMPLE FOR SPAIN

(Bee. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 24. A San Sebastian message says the Spanish regime is making its way towards greater political liberty and popular representation, according to the new Spanish Foreign Minister (Senor Artajo) in an interview, benor Artaio, who is a Catholic representative in General Franco's Cabinet, added that the Spaniards must learn a lesson from the British elections. "Our regime is not rigid, lie said., "On the contrary, it is supple and able to make a transformation. We must remember that this is desired by the Democratic Powers, as Mr Bevm (Britain's Foreign Secretary) stated. Mr Bevin's speech shows Britain's great political development. Such a radical electoral change in any other country, for example, Spain in 1931, would have led to a complete turn against the Government even affecting the country's institutions. Nevertheless, Britain has been able to continue her fundamental political policy both at home and abroad This tradition of the British and their way of evolution without violent conflict is an example to be followed by everyone. This makes us expect that Britain will respect Spain's rio-ht to make her own political evolution with such speed or such delay as is required by national security in order to avoid a general collapse or dangerous confusion."
