LIMIT ON HORSE FLOATS
(P A ) WELLINGTON, Aug. 23. Mr W. A. Slieat (Nat., Patea) gave notice in the House of Representatives today to ask the Minister of Transport when the present 30-mile limit on the operation of horse floats was likely to be lifted. Mr Slieat said that if the present restrictions were removed the owners of horse floats would bo able to make much hotter use of their vehicles with their existing petrol licenses. Racing and trainers had had to put up with a o-ood deal of extra trouble and expense while war conditions necessitated the present severe restrictions, he added, and they would appreciate an early relexation of the restrictions.
