EXTRACTS FROM “STANDARD.” AUGUST 23, 1915.
Further reports of the naval action in which the Germans fared badly in the Gull of Riga state that the sttper-Drcad-nought Moltko was sunk by a British submarine. The Germane had been routed by Russian and British naval forces.
Opinions had been expressed that now Italy had declared war on Turkey the other Balkan countries would follow suit, 'the declaration had been received enthusiastically throughout Italy. British naval vessels had bombarded a factory between Zecbrugge and Lisewogrc. Germany, bad admitted the bombardment, but had given nothing of the effect of the action.
