BLACKOUT RETURNS
BRITAIN’S COAL SHORTAGE
(Rec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 22. The blackout is returning to Britain because of the coal shortage, say s the Daily Express. The Minister of Mines (Mr Shinwell) announced that he was reluctantly compelled to ask local authorities to put out street lights at midnight. They are also asked to consider additional economics such as a reduction of the number of lights in side streets.
