BOUNTY ON GENERALS
LIVE JAPANESE WANTED. NEW YORK, Aug. C. Forty-five days’ leave in the United States' will be given to any soldier capturing alive any of the Japanese Generals holed up in North Luzon, according to an order from MajorGeneral Gill, commander of the 32nd Division. The Generals are reported to include Yamasliita. General Gill previously offered a case of beer and a tlnee-day leave iiass to Manila for each live prisoner, but the troops brought in Japanese so fast that the bounty was discontinued. Small forces of Japanese desperately resisting the clean-up on Luzon coun-ter-attacked at two points on Thursday and Saturday, but were beaten back, says the Associated Press correspondent. It is estimated that /000 Japanese are still holding out in groups of 100 or fewer.
