HOMELESS SOLDIERS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —It was very interesting to read in Saturday’s “Manawatu Standard” that the returned servicemen of Australia are following Brighton’s (England) example in forming a group known as the “Vigilantes”. It might be a good idea if we returned servicemen of New Zealand, who are homeless, some for a year or more, were to form an organisation to press our claims on the authorities. Perhaps if we did this something would be done to help us. Children are not wanted in fiats or rooms, so what else can we do? When leaving for the Middle East we were to'ld that nothing was too good for us, and on our return to New Zealand that is exactly what we got—nothing.—Yours, etc., HOMELESS 2nd N.Z.E.F.
