RACING NEWS
EVENTS AT TRENTHAM (By “Spectator.”)
Although the Awapuni contingent to race at Trenthani tomorrow is not so strong numerically as usual, thcro is nothing wrong with the quality and it is quite likely that horses from this centre will feature prominently in the results. Latest reports arc that the track' is in bettor order than is usually the case at this meeting. It will, nevertheless, be on the heavy side. The Wellington Steeplechase promises to provide one of the best contests in the history of the race. Foxiana has the weight of a good horse, but he is good and had there been no limit he would not have got in with this weight. Good reports are to hand regarding Town Survey, but lack of experience over the big timber may be against him* The bracketed . Noko and Sir Percy are likely to provide strong opposition to the topweight. Sir Percy is a young and brilliant jumper, while Noko will be carrying, for him, a luxurious burden. Ivunui to Pai, on recent work, promises to run a fine race and his second in the Grand National Steeplechase cannot bo overlooked. Strip is a South Islander who should make a hold bid for the honours, while Rarnillics is the “every day typo” and hard to beat. .It is a very open contest.. Fancies may bo:
