MR FRASER’S ADMIRATION

(Press Assn.) AUCKLAND, July 5Expressing his deepest regret at the death of' Mr Curtin, Mr Eraser, on his return from America this afternoon, said he had the greatest admiration for tho late Australian leader, both as a statesman and a personal friend. Mr Curtin had been the war leader of the Australian people, and his work would endure long alter the war. In Britain, the United States,' and all tho British Dominions, Mr Curtin was held in the highest esteem. Mr Eraser extended his sincere sympathy to Mr Curtin’s family and tile Australian Government and people and the Labour Party which he had led so capably.

In Palmerston North, as elsewhere throughout the Dominion, flags were flown on Government buildings yesterday as a mark of respect to the late Mr Curtin.
