CUBA ST. GUILD

"To be of use in the world is the only way to be happy" was the quotation chosen for the May meeting of the Cuba Street Methodist Guild, and in conformity with this maxim a table near the entrance to the Sunday School hall displayed gifts, used , and unused, which members had brought to be forwarded to the United Guild. The special guests at this social gathering were members of the League of Mothers choir, and the president (Mrs E. Twiggc) also extended special greetings to Mrs Massey, a new member. Devotional exercises led by Mrs "W. A. Boniface had as their theme thanksgiving for the victory of the Allies in Euroi,e. Tt was reported that Mrs A. H. Fisher had represented the guild at the Mothers' Day meeting of the League of Mothers. Mrs Twigge gave an account of the arrangements which had been made to celebrate the guild's 43rd birthday at the June meeting. Numbers by the league choir, led by Mrs W. Bigham, were enjoyed, also vocal duets by Mesdamcs Bigham and "Woollctt, whistling solos by Mrs Wesney, and vocal solos by Mrs Bartlett. A competition arranged by Mrs Jones was Avon by Mesdames Bigham and Collins. Mesdames Dixon, Mitchell, Misses Jamieson and Dittmer served afternoon tea, thanks being conveyed to them and to the performers by Mrs Twigge, who also expressed appreciation of the work of Miss Dittmcr and Mrs Morgan in arranging the floral decorations.
