(From Our Own Correspondent.) A pleasant evening was spent in the ball when a welcome was acco'ded Bdr. Lofle, a former resident, who had been a prisoner of war for four and a half years. All were pleased to see him looking so well. Mr Ilicken supplied the music for dancing and non-dancers player! euchre. Mrs Sinclair and Mr Pidwell winning the prizes. Miss D. McLean danced the Irish jig and the sailor's hornpipe. Mr J. Stewart gnvo a Scottish recitation, and Miss N. Short a humorous recitation. Mr Stewart made a presentation to Bdr. Lofts and congratulated him on his safe return. Bdr. Lofts was accorded musical honours and Mrs Waldcgrave made and presented a beautiful bouquet to Mrs Lyon, mother-in-law of the guest.
