BUSINESS HOURS
In the main, business premises in Palmerston North are observing today and tomorrow as holidays. Grocers, however, will be open tomorrow till noon and butchers till 10 a.m. No bread is being baked today, but bread will be baked on Thursday morning for normal delivery. The Manawatu-Wairarapa Employers' Association states that the holidays as announced by the Government are not compulsory and the decisions about hours in Palmerston North and district have been made as recommendations only, but it is expected that in every case all members of each particular group will abide by the decision made.
Feilding has advised that the grocers and butchers will remain open on Thursday morning to noon.
