In the Magistrate's Court, today, Francis Edward Simpson, a freezing -works hand, faced charges of presenting a valueless cheque for £l6 4s to C. W. McQueen and, further, that lie presented another valueless cheque for £lO 2s 3d to JMrs Christina J. Mitchell. Ho was remanded till January 10. Messrs M. A. Eliott and G. M. Ranson, J.P.'s, were on tho Bench.
