Further gains in Flanders were included in the latest reports from London. A number of German counter-attacks had been beaten off around Nieuport. Large Gorman reinforcements were being rushed to Belgium. For the Manawalu Cup. of one and a-haJf miles, there were twelve acceptors. Kilrain (8.11) was the topweight. There were to be two sergeants of police stationed in Palmerston North. . Sergt. Henry (Wellington) and Sergt. W. J. Quin (Christchurch) had been transferred to the town. Sergt. Willis was leaving Palmerston North to take charge of Feilding.
