MORE BRITISH TROOPS
(Rec. 11.45 a.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 22. A quarter of a million more fighting men are to be made available by a new Government call-up plan. An announcement from Downing Street today states: "In order to sustain and nourish our armies in the line the British Government has decided to make available in the coming months additicnal fighting men. A large part will be found by a new call-up from civil life and from the R.A.F. and more will be found from the Army itself by further combing out and retraining units and individuals who hitherto have been engaged in static forms of defence or administrative service. The total to be provided will amount to 250,000 men. —Official Wireless.
