London.—After 33 years' service. 17 of which were in the ranks;- an English-nan, Commander Rcgfald Horace Johnson, D.S.C., Weymouth, has made history in the Royal Navy. He is promoted to the acting rank of captain, being the first man to reach that rank on the active list after serving a full period as a warrantofficer. He is aged 49.
