WOMAN PROFESSOR
LONDON, Dec. 22
The Oxford University's first woman professor will be a Harley Street surgeon, Miss Ida Mann, aged 51, who is being appointed at £2OOO a- year. She is at present leader of a team of doctors, chemists, physicists, dietitians and psychologists engaged in research in the treatment of eye diseases. She is hoping to heat blindness by determining the proportions of different foods and vitamin concentrates being sent to millions of under-nourished people in liberated Europe.
