STORAGE FOR WOOL
Difficulties in finding storage space for the new season’s wool clip have led to widespread inquiries for suitable premises hi various parts of the Dominion, says a Press Association message. So acute is the position that it is understood aerodrome and defence buildings are being inspected and considered as emergency storage places. The former freezing works at Kakariki, which have been used by the Air Force as a bulk store, are being used (o relieve the congestion at Wanganui so that the fresh clip can be accommodated. Places mentioned as likely depots are the aerodrome at Ohakea and a portion of the drill hall used as Army area headquarters at New Plymouth. The possible dispersal of 1944 wool to unusual locations is expected to load to altered appraisal arrangement. Every effort is being made, it is understood, to meet the situation and avoid farmers holding clips on farms.
