KELVIN GROVE INSTITUTE

At the September meeting of the Kelvin Grove Women's Institute, Mrs Williams presided. The secretary read letters from servicemen, Messrs F. Sollitt. F. Mabbitt, H. Shepherd and B. Kensington. A visitors' book was opened and two visitors were welcomed, Mrs M. Mercer and Miss Callahan. The institute has decided to donate one guinea to tho leper fund. It also donated a present to Mrs K. Wolfsbauer, a member who has now left tho district. Mrs Maybe was thanked for her donation of half a dozen spoons for the institute. Mrs Tozer donated a peg bag for the institute's day at the patriotic shop next month. The October hostesses will be Mrs R. Mercer and Mrs M. Mercer. Mrs K. Wolfsbauer sent a donation towards the institute funds. Competition results were:—Single flower, Mrs Vile 1, Mrs Callahan 2, Mrs Oreaheri'3; cluster. Mrs Tozor 1, Mrs Callahan 2, Mrs Kensington 3; woo! posy, Mrs Andersen 1, Mrs Callahan 2, Mrs' Vile 3; war competition, Mrs Kensington and Miss Parker, equal. The competition for October, is for three white -scones.
