Mrs F. McHardy lias returned to her home in TVaipawa after staying with Mrs D. McHardy, of Broadway Avenue.
Mrs Mary Ann Coleman, whose death occurred at the age of 93 years, was one of New Plymouth’s oldest residents. She was the widow of Mr Robert Coleman. Mr and Mrs Coleman, who were the oldest married couple at New Plymouth, had been married 72 years at the time of Mr Coleman’s death in February of this year at the age of 94 years. Mrs Coleman left England for Queensland
with her husband and three children nearly 60 years ago. Mr Coleman worked at Brisbane and Melbourne before arriving at New Plymouth in 1892, where he was the oldest established builder at the time of his death. Mrs Coleman is survived by four sons, Messrs A. J. Coleman (Auckland), F. A. Coleman (New Plymoutli), TV. K. Coleman (Palmeupton North), and C. Coleman (New Plymouth). and one daughter, Mrs M. A. McKee (New Plymouth). Results of a medal competition played by the Manawatu Ladies’ Golf Club yesterday for points in Mrs J. P. Innes’s trophy are:—First division: Mrs J. P. Flood, 95—19—76; Mrs A.' McCreary, 91 —14—77; Mrs W. H. Smith, 91—9—82; Mrs R. L. Harding, 95 —13—82. Second division: Mrs M. Thorburn, 105—27 78; Mrs E. J. Wills, 110—28—82; Mrs C. G. Dermer, 109—24—85.
