FEILDING NEWS
Rail patronage in Feilding has been heavy over the Christmas holidays and expresses yesterday carried a largo number of passengers from the town, including many visitors returning home after a few days' vacation.
At a recent sitting the Children's Court dealt with a boy who bad confessed to a number of thefts. The Court ordered that the boy be detained for a period in an institution where it is hoped that the training he will receive will tend to mend his ways. After several dull and very overcast days, Feilding yesterday experienced a beautiful summer day of hot sunshine and a cloudless sky. The weather of late has been windy and this has tended to dry up pastures, while there has been surprisingly little real growth of grass. The Feilding Community Centre possesses a framed photograph of the late Mr A. J. Humphreys, who has been president of the Feilding branch of the W.E.A. for 12 years and was among those who had paved the way for the establishment of the centre in Feilding.
