BOY DROWNED
(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 28. Drifting into deep water while learning to swim, Kingstonc Glanville Reeve, aged 14, the youngest son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Reeve, of Inglewood, was drowned in the Waiongona River yesterday afternoon after rescue efforts by an older brother, Eric Reeve, had been unsuccessful. The former was teaching himself to swim in shallow water by holding on to a rock and working his legs, but lie drifted from the rock into eight foot of water. Artificial resuscitation for an hour and a half failed to restore life.
