WARNING TO AUSTRALIA
(12.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, Dec. 29. "Before Australia can be really great she must cut out the cancer of birth control," declares Mr E. S. Spooner, M.P. "Large families are the foundation of national greatness." Australia must recognise that birth control was evidence of national deterioration and an indicator of eventual extinction, he said. If it did not, Australia would be populated by other people who would change the character of the country. Any immigration policy not accompanied by a natural population increase must change the national character and outlook. For the next 20 years there should be honourable recognition of all families that doubled the present average family.
