280 INJECTIONS Its ORTHODOX TREATMENTS Read this interesting letter from Mrs Buick, Masterton: “I would like you to know that my husband was ill for three years, never closed his eyes to sleep, and nearly went mad with a gnawing pain in his side. “I took- him to two local doctors. They couldn’t locate anything. Then to two specialists in Wellington, Dr and Dr , neither could they. Back to Masterton to be X-rayed, still nothing. Doctors began to say a case of ‘imaginitis.’ Well, after six X-rays we were getting desperate. By chance I heard the X-ray plant was obsolete and that within a few months a new one was being installed, so we waited, and up to the hospital again. THIS TIME they found it—a Duodenal Ulcer, the size of a man’s thumb. Next thing, a strict diet for three months. He seemed to improve a little, but it seemed progress was too slow and the pain was gnawing. Mr Buick got the idea in his head that lie had a cancer. Doctor assured him there wasn’t. Well, he was at the stage when medicines were not doing good, so reading the paper and listening to the radio we heard of your wonderful—there is no other word for it—R.U.R. So to town I go, _ls miles, and purchase the large size, came home, made it up and placed it on the table every meal time. Sufficient is said. Mr Buick after four large sizes is a new man. He is running two farms for the. next five years. Never complains about the pain and hardly knows a sleepless night. Enough about Mr Buick. “Now' about myself. Nearly six years ago, when our baby was born, it nearly mea'nt finis for me. There wasn’t a hope, but I improved, and for many months I was a complete wreck. Full of 'dope.’ I had, all told, 280 INJECTIONS IN THE ARMS, THE SAME IN LEGS. I suppose the blood stream was putrid.
