DINNER SENT BY AIR.

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 28. Indicative of the comradeship between New Zealanders in various branches of the Armed Services, the R.N.Z.A.F. delivered mail and fresh meat and vegetables to an isolated garrison "somewhere in tho\ South Pacific”. Two aircraft took off with Christmas ' dinner for the garrison, including almost half a ton of lamb, more than a ton of potatoes, and approximately a quarter of a ton of shelled green peas. Roaring in at a low altitude, the two aircraft were cheered by the lonely outpost as the parachutes were seen to fall with the precious cargo attached. So it was that while carrying out what might have been routine flying duties the Air Force was able to don the garb of Santa Claus.
